Hi Seb – got a solution!

I was adding the tooltip script after each element that required it and as that was inside a
, it was considered invalid code. Moved all the scripts outside the
and now both tools sit happily side by side! :)

Not yet Seb. It’s rather tricky to resolve the conflict with the prototip script I’m using as it’s completely obfuscated. Also, for now I’m sticking to using the slideshow in it’s default behaviour but to have it able to smoothly auto scroll from one end to the other and back again would be fantastic. I can’t guarantee it, but I may be able to extract a donation to your cause from my boss should you be able to help in this regard.

In the meantime, I’m going to email the author of the prototip script to see if they can help solve the conflict issue.

BTW, as I’ve mentioned on another post, I’d love to be able to make the carousel smoothly scroll from one end to the other and back again. I’ve had a crack at it myself but I’m new to prototype so I’m not doing too well so far! :)

OK, through a process of elimination, I’ve tracked the problem down to the carousel conflicting in some way with another script I’m using – prototip – which is also written for prototype.

No idea how to solve the conflict though! :)

Downloaded this great looking component and have integrated it into a new test site I’m playing with. Only trouble is, the carousel refuses to scroll. I’ve had a look at other threads and ensured that I’ve only got one declaration of prototype and scriptaculous but still nothing. I’ve also tried it with both the classic and ui-prototype css files just in case but still no joy.

Anyone able to offer some advice?
